reduce sugar intake

What will you feel when you start regaining consciousness spending three hours in operation theatre and the first think you notice is you can’t feel your leg? Since I am having an aunt working as a doctor, i often hear stories about my aunt doing treatment and operation on diabetes patients. I found that these problems are becoming more worrisome. So, I decide to make a research on the right amount of sugar that should be taken. Now, I would like to explain to you why reducing sugar is necessary and how to take right amount of sugar.

ladies and gentelman,

I know all of you have acknowledges what is sugar, diabetes and all the symptoms. What I want to tell and stress here is the statistic for the whole malaysian people regarding this bad habit.

Excessive sugar cause high sugar in our blood can lead to diabetes. Furthermore, this also can lead to heart disease like stroke, high blood pressure which can shorten our life. Based on the data taken out by Ministry of Health, the number of diabetics in the country has increased rapidly in the last 10 years from 1996-2006 to 1.4 million adults above the age of 30 which mean risen from 8.3 per cent in 1996 to 14.9 per cent in 2006.this data is related each other. What was alarming is that almost 36 percent of them were undiagnosed, resulting in complications later that required more intensive medical care, putting great strain on the existing overstretched health services. Moreover, recently obesity was another trend in Malaysia, since the National Health and Morbidity Survey in 2006, showed that the number of obese had also increased by almost 200 percent over a 10-year period from 1996.This is a worrying trend, as obesity remains the foundation for the development of diabetes, particularly in our society. The 2006 National Health and Morbidity Survey revealed that 29.1 per cent of adults in Malaysia were overweight and 14 per cent obese. In 1996, only 16 per cent were overweight and four per cent obese.

friends,

I’m sure that you can see the need for people like you to know the amount of sugar we taken daily and how to make change. Let me tell you
Every Malaysian love teh tarik. However do you know that the teh tarik is a silent killer.yes.it is because it contain high sugar as it use creamer in making teh tarik. So please next time you want to have a cup of teh tarik, please think wisely. So basically, I prefer to suggest you to have a plain water. If you want other drink, make sure just have 2 tea spoon of sugar.
There are so many kind of desert out there, most of them are tradisional kuih, cake and etc. Here I would like to remind you that please limit usage of sugar in your meal. Food also contributed to this diabetes. You may replace the desert with fruits which high in fiber and vitamin as well. If you buy food at supermarket, take product that stated “suger free” and “less sugar’. Remember don’t sleep after eating. When you sleep, your body will gradually slow down digestion process. This leads to the diabetes, fat and obesity.

As you can easily see, how worrisome this issue is. Year to year, there is increasing of the number of diabetics in the Malaysia. I’ve told you about why reducing sugar is necessary and how to take right amount of sugar and having healthy life with less sugar. What if there someone you loved have to face that he or she lost their leg because of diabetes? Would you dare to tell the person you love the most that they lost their leg because of this bad habit? Imagine if you take drastically action on you yourself and advising people around you. I am sure you may save their legs or even your own leg and you were able to see them move like other peoples do.

I’m going to leave you with a short message from Emily P.bissel,”Great thought speak only to thoughtful mind but great action speaks to all man kind”.
